Silver Circle is a community circus that formed in 2008 when a bunch of amateur performers from a variety of persuasions decided to try their hands at burlesque, cabaret and circus. With the attitude of “we can do that!” the Tuesday acrobatics class was born.

People from all ages and levels of fitness and experience train, play and perform with us. From our humble beginnings we now have people willing and able to teach beginner to advanced levels of acrobalance, aerials, juggling, stunt lifting, parkour, a variety of circus toys, and associated performance skills from dance to stage fighting.

We’ve produced a number of full shows on our own, including one for every Auckland Arts Fringe Festival so far. Members are also frequently involved with circus events, cabaret, burlesque and circus themed shows or festivals.

The thing that makes Silver Circle special, however, is the people: a wonderful bunch of positive, friendly, dedicated, enthusiastic and brave characters. Training is fun – the best night of the week – and the social events are… well… your imagination is probably better for this. If you want to try it for yourself, come to Auckland Girls’ Grammar Upper Gym from 6-9pm Tues. You can also contact us through Facebook, or here on the website. We look forward to throwing you bodily into the air.

Open training is held at Auckland Girls Grammar School in Ponsonby, Auckland, in the Upper Gym every Tuesday from 6-9pm.

The entrance is on Hopetoun St (off Ponsonby Rd), directly opposite Hereford St. Parking can be found on Hopetoun St or in the carpark as indicated. Follow the path down the steps around the building until you reach the open doors.
